Annie:

I have actually never really wondered about a page being accurate or not. When I've used the Internet, I have never even questioned whether or not the page was being truthful or was lying; I have just believed what I've seen. My initial response when I viewed these fake sights was, "Wow! I've never even thought about this being done", and I was very surprised, yet humored, too. However, these inaccurate sights are definitely not funny when they are sites claiming that they are businesses and want your credit card number so you can buy their non-existing products. Also, if these pages ask you for your name, address, and/or phone number and the creator of the fake sight is harmful, than it can be very dangerous. This activity in Computer Class will surely affect the way I use the Internet in the future. From now on, I will definitely be much more careful while surfing on the Net.

Stephen:

In the past I have not questioned whether or not any of the websites are telling the truth. Some seem to be kind of strange and unreal, but this is probably a strategy to draw people into the site for one reason or another. I always knew that people in chat rooms may not be who they say they are, but I never thought that people could do this with a website. I am not sure why I never questioned whether the website was true, I was probably blinded by my own curiosity and interest. The one thing that I couldn't believe was how real the sites seemed at first. My initial response to learning that the information in the websites was false was mainly that of surprise. I cannot believe how easy it is to make people think that such incredible lies are true. It is really not that hard to make up a fake city, add fake pictures, and post it on the net. What is more amazing is the fact that people will believe it. This will probably affect the way that I use the internet in the future by making me more cautious about what I think is true, and what I believe is not true. Maybe next time that I am looking in a website, I might want to try to get more information. In the future when I find a site, I want to be able to find some kind of proof that the information given is true.

Colleen:

I have never thought of a web page being accurate or truthful before because I thought that they were true. I just never really thought about it being not true because I thought all web pages were true.I was surprised when I found out that some web pages weren't real because I thought they were all true. I don't go to many web pages so I really wouldn't know if they are true or not. The New Hartford one was believable but the other ones weren't believable. This will affect they way I use the internet by I know to not believe every web page I see. I will have to be more careful when I go to web pages and not believe them all.

Seth:

Before that page, I never really considered a web page might be fake. Most of the time, it was because the information on the page was believable. Today, however, the information on the page was pretty ridiculous, but it was funny. At first, I thought it was real, but then I realized how stupid it sounded. My reaction to this was humor. Most of the things on that page made me laugh. I really thought it was funny. If a page I liked was fake, then I'd be upset. If I lived in the real Makato, I might be pretty upset.  I don't think this will really affect the way I use the internet. Maybe I will think a little bit more on whether or not what I'm reading is real, but I don't think I'll be affected that much.

Christene:

I have thought about mis-information on the web before. But, I never would have thought about it on that page. It looked so believable! Some pages just don't really look all that believable, like the page we looked at yesterday. In the future, I will pay extra attention to what is being said on the net. Now that I think about it, most of what is on the net is wrong. I was shocked, but not surprised when you told us the news. I was also kind of amused, because on the one page, it said something about deep sea fishing in the Minnesota River.

Bert:

I never thought that anyone would want to be inaccurate or truthful , but I think that a lot of web pages are inaccurate and/or not truthful. I think that some web pages are inaccurate or not truthful because of all the people that get their credit card numbers taken and used by the people that own the web page and because of all the inaccurate information on almost all the web pages on the web. I was pretty surprised to find that some people would actually try steal your credit card number or something else on a fake web page , but I also thought it was funny that some people were actually stupid enough to have a page where nothing works.  This activity will affect the way I use the internet by making me afraid of people stealing personal information away from me over the net , so I will make sure to only put information that is personal on the net if I can be sure it is safe to do.
