Using the Graphing Calculators with Probes and Web resources
![]()
Learn to use the TI-83 Plus and Casio FX-7400G Plus to model, illustrate analyze
and solve real life problems.
Outcomes:
· Learn to graph data with and without probes
· Learn to manipulate data in a table and to use various representations
for analyzing data
· Learn commands for doing probability simulations
· Learn keystrokes for solving problems with business applications
Projects:
· Design a container to hold contents with various shapes and use graphing
calculators to find the maximum volume of a container given the dimensions of
its sides.
· Design a simulation for predicting the expected value for receipts
from two teams (any sport) of your choice. One should be a losing team and one
should be a winning team. Based on data from the web about their previous seasons'
records, predict box office receipts and determine expected value.
