Specialized Search Engines: http://webquest.sdsu.edu/searching/specialized.html

Google: http://www.google.com

Basic Search Strategies:

1. Use nouns as query keywords. Never use words such as: a, the, he, it, to, from...
2. Be specific ("golden retriever" instead of dogs), but add words to expand search results
3. Where possible, combine keywords into phrases as in "solar system"
4. Spell carefully
5. Use the "-" to subtract unwanted information for example:

bass -fish to find information about the musical instrument (**space after bass)
bass -music to find information about the fish (**space after bass)
