American Memory This is a primary source page full of archival information. It includes movies, pictures, sound and text. It links to many other sites. A good starting place for research.
Archiving Early America  Good start for researching the subject.
American Studies Web  A guide to American studies resources on the Internet. Indexed by subject.
History Place  A beautiful US History site.
The 50 State of the United States  This site has information links for all 50 states. This is a perfect site to begin research on a particular state.
Anatomy of a Murder  This site was developed by students as part of a ThinkQuest project. It  uses simulation to help your students learn about the American judicial system. Includes landmark Supreme Court decisions, a glossary of terms, various steps of a trial and more.
The Whitehouse  This site is maintained by the Bush administration and is good for students in grades 1-4.

    American West:

Medieval Art and Architecture  Clear, gorgeously detailed photographs of many cathedrals and some castles in England and France, accessed through a clickable map.

Geography and Maps:
How Far Is It?  This service uses the University of Michigan's Geographic Name Server and a supplementary database of world cities to find the latitude and longitude of two places, and then calculates the distance between them in a straight line. It also provides a map showing the two places.
The World Globe Gallery  188 links to various types of globes and maps.
Mapmaker, Mapmaker, Make Me a Map  Wonderful site explaining the difference between all sorts of maps; political, physical, etc. Shows ancient maps as well as modern satellite maps.
